My name is Kate and my daughter Amber was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 (Edwards Syndrome) when I was 20 weeks pregnant.
This site is a mix of my online ‘journal’ posts with which I kept everyone updated with on social media and a blog on which I intend to keep writing about our journey, through a difficult and mostly traumatic pregnancy, through to her birth, life and devastatingly to her very recent passing and my journey onwards.
As I write this initial ‘About’ page I am only a week past her passing and dreading her funeral. I don’t know how to breathe or live at the moment and I’ve decided amongst the chaos to pour out these raw feelings in a blog.
We live in the beautiful, wild Scottish Highlands with my dog Pandora, a rabbit named Aphrodite and now surrounded by the spirit of my feisty, beautiful and medically complex tiny daughter, Amber Marina Lily.
